Frame Construction: Frames are constructed of sustainably certified kiln dried engineered hardwood plywood. Frame parts are joined with precision cut interlocking joints that are glued, stapled. Frames have corner blocks that are glued and screwed at stress points, especially on seat rails and other high stress areas. Depending on rail thickness, frames may be of a hybrid construction, adding a solid hardwood inner frame to give seat rails additional support.
Padding: All outside surfaces are padded with a bonded fiber.
Seat: Loose seat cushions are constructed of a soy based, high resiliency 1.8 lb/cubic foot density polyurethane cushion core wrapped in layer of polyester fiber and enclosed in a down proof ticking. All loose seat cushions have the same basic construction, but the thickness of the poly core and the fiber wrap will vary depending on the style of the piece.
Seat Back: Loose back cushions are filled with premium polyester blown fiber enclosed in a down proof ticking. Depending on the style of the piece, some loose backs will instead be constructed of a polyurethane core with a dacron wrap, enclosed in a down proof cover.

Seating Construction: Seat bases are supported by a sinuous arc metal spring construction with a 60%-90% recycled content, based on material availability. Due to the design requirements of some styles, rubberized webbing may be used instead of the springs. Seat bases are insulated with polypropylene fabric and are padded with synthetic fiber.
